E/S Studio

A working studio for a painter, sited on an open meadow with views of a natural pond.  The client required a workspace with high clean walls and good light;  adjacent to that, a smaller space for drawing, prep work and storage space is provided. The “L” shaped plan-form creates an entry courtyard planted with native grasses. The design language recalls the memory of an eighteenth-century Dutch barn that once occupied the site.
