A new building to house studios, workshops and support space for Bard College’s undergraduate, liberal-arts based architecture program. Occupying a wooded hilltop at the edge of campus, the new building is structured around an open courtyard, envisioned as an extension of the formal teaching spaces and a gathering place open to the entire campus. An existing house, converted for teaching purposes, marks the entry to the courtyard. Open studios are designed to foster a culture of creative and critical work, and a specialized fabrication lab enables hands-on learning. (Work in Progress)
