Olana Orchard Studio

Hudson, NY

Exhibition

2019

An invitation to exhibit at the Hudson River house constructed by painter Fredric Church was an opportunity to reflect on architecture’s relationship to landscape and nature today. The studio will accommodate artists-in-residence: painters, sculptors, architects or writers who can reflect on the legacy of the Hudson River School, local and regional ecologies, architecture and landscape. Our proposal is located below and out of sight of the main house, adjacent to the original farmhouse and orchard. The building creates an immersive, light-filled interior that will serve as a living, working, and exhibition space.
