Ghost Shed

Long Island/Hudson River Valley
Installation
2017

Originally developed for an exhibition at the NYIT School of Architecture. The proposal, later reinstalled in upstate New York, is a 1:4 mockup of the house form – a variation on a repeatable theme. This compound volume is intended to recall the memory of the house while triggering other associations beyond the domestic. The exposed wood structure recalls balloon framing, while the translucent skin gives it an ephemeral quality. Although not inhabitable, the scale and character of this “object in a field” acquires a social dimension when placed in the public realm.
