Field Studio

A working studio for a multi-disciplinary artist, located in the Hudson River Valley. The site is an open field of tall meadow grasses. The client requires an open workspace with high clean walls and, adjacent to that, a smaller space for drawing and prep work. The large, shed-like form has the profile and appearance of a barn. At one end, the plan is inflected and the roofline turns down, resolving into a familiar pitched roof profile at the drawing studio.
