E/V House & Studio

Situated on a rural site in the Hudson River Valley, the property includes barns, outbuildings, and a former hunting lodge converted to residential use. The project encompasses an addition to the original lodge, and a working architecture studio. In this rural context I wanted to pay homage to the sense of history, place, and local vernacular—not as a nostalgic recall, but to highlight the fundamentally modern character of these compact volumes and simple geometries closely tied to the landscape. The studio was completed in 2016; the house addition is planned for 2021.
