Selected as finalists for the international competition to convert a 460-acre military base in northwest Toronto, SAA and Field Operations collaborated in designing a carefully gauged landscape framework that is both integrative and flexible. The proposal consists of two primary systems: one, CIRCUITS, gathers all of the active recreation and circulation programs; the second, THROUGH-FLOWS, supports all of the hydrological and ecological dynamics of the site. Together, these precisely constructed systems are the framework that directs and supports the unfolding of any number of future demands as information flows through their evolving geometries.
