Landco Towers
In Progress
Sucat, Philippines

Situated on a former industrial site 10 minutes outside of Manila, the developer Landco Pacific approached SAA to design six twenty-five-story condominium towers for the rapidly expanding residential market in Asia. The project had to be buildable within a tight budget, utilize a predominantly concrete material palette, and incorporate/integrate the hundreds of window air-conditioning units into the façade.

SAA responded with a diamond shaped plan, maximizing the efficiency of the apartment layouts while creating an interior atrium that permits urban ‘windows’ that open to key views on site. On the exterior, a “concrete ribbon” façade system conceals all of the AC units as well as providing a continuous interior “shelf” for each apartment. The ribbons serve to articulate the façade of the standardized apartment layouts, creating incident and variety within an otherwise repetitive system.

At the level of the site, each tower rotates slightly from the next, creating figural open space, and a family of six unique towers that all share an architectural vocabulary.
