In 2006, SAA was shortlisted in the international design competition to rethink 3 kilometers of waterfront adjacent to the city’s central business district. A paradigmatic postindustrial waterfront, this site had suffered from decades of thoughtless development. Our proposal revitalized the waterfront boulevard with a series of transit strips which unfureld to create a series of waterfront parks, public spaces, and cultural venues.
